Making the Complex Simple

Valid and Useful Information for Team Members and Clients

Fitness can be made into a very complex topic. After all we are talking about extremely complex machines/organisms with wide-ranging goals and environments.  Although using that complexity can be technically correct at times, too often it can also serve to confuse the reader, mask the author’s understanding, and obscure the facts in attempts to build clout.  So, rather than cloud information with self-aggrandizing technical baffle garble, we will write plainly and directly. We will be opining on and publishing many things under the banner of “Gen-X Elite“, “Strength for Life“, “Executive Performance“, and their accompanying brands and social media.  Also, it all will be “mentally written” by humans with real intelligence, knowledge, and experience not AI slop or AI-enabled group-think nonsense derived from flawed studies, and dubious Wikipedia editors. The purpose is to provide a consistent and clear repository of helpful information for team members and clients.

Keep it Simple and Focus on Purpose

To the extent possible, the information will be presented in a very simplified, perhaps oversimplified form.  The intent is to write so simply and basically that we all say, “Everyone knows that.” This is so we have no excuse for overcomplicating things, going off path, buying into fear, getting distracted by wild goose chases or falling for marketing/influencer nonsense. Further and maybe more importantly, the more we know and understand these things, the more independent and truly capable we are and the more we enjoy what we are doing. I could almost preface everything with something like “generally speaking”, “the vast majority of the time”, or “to the extent that it matters”, etc.   Rather than doing that, I will be making my best effort to make the complex simple. This is for the purpose of clarity, actionability, and so you can most easily use it to improve your understanding and better your lives.

We all have to wade through a lot of nonsense in broadcast, popular, scholarly (allegedly), and non-traditional media to find valid and useful information. This has been and will always be true. Don’t be fooled by lab coats and degrees. That PhD Influencer on high doses of TRT calling himself “Doctor” might have some serious emotional maturity issues, lack any beneficial knowledge, and have very questionable motives. Ask all the dumb questions, be your own advocate, maintain your focus, and make the complex simple.
